The Short Answer
Mayflower wallpaper is made in the USA. Every pattern is designed in Rhode Island by co-owner and designer Jonathan French, and printed in Pennsylvania. Our papers are printed with water-based, low-VOC inks and are compliant with California's CDPH Section 01350, the standard most often written into LEED and WELL projects. Our paper and peel-and-stick wallpapers are PVC-free. Health Product Declarations (HPDs) and CDPH documentation are available on request for designers and specifiers.
Every Mayflower pattern is designed in Rhode Island and printed in Pennsylvania.
Is Mayflower wallpaper low-VOC?
Yes. Our wallpapers are printed with water-based inks and are certified compliant with CDPH Standard Method v1.2, Section 01350, the California emissions standard that architects and interior designers rely on when a project is chasing LEED or WELL credits. We describe our papers as low-VOC rather than VOC-free, because low-VOC and CDPH-compliant is the claim we can document. If your project needs the emissions paperwork, we can provide it.
Is Mayflower wallpaper PVC-free?
Our traditional paper wallpapers and our peel-and-stick wallpapers are PVC-free. If avoiding PVC matters for your home or your project, those are the two lines to look at. We also make vinyl and faux-grasscloth papers, which are a vinyl (PVC) material. They are durable, scrubbable, and a smart choice for kitchens, baths, and high-traffic walls, though they sit outside our PVC-free range. We would rather tell you plainly which product is which than blur the line.
Is Mayflower wallpaper made in the USA?
Yes. Every pattern is designed by hand in Rhode Island by co-owner Jonathan French and printed in Pennsylvania. Nothing is drop-shipped from overseas. That short supply chain is part of why we can turn a trade order around quickly and speak to exactly how and where a paper was made.

Sustainability and trade FAQ
Do you have documentation for LEED or WELL projects?
Yes. CDPH Section 01350 compliance documentation and a Health Product Declaration (HPD) are available on request. Reach out through the Trade Program page and let us know what your project needs.
Which wallpapers are PVC-free?
Mayflower's traditional paper and peel-and-stick lines are PVC-free. Our vinyl and faux-grasscloth papers are a vinyl material and sit outside the PVC-free range, though they are an excellent, wipeable choice for humid or high-traffic rooms.
Are the inks safe for a nursery or bedroom?
Our papers are printed with water-based, low-VOC inks and are CDPH 01350 compliant. Many customers choose them for nurseries and bedrooms for that reason. See our Nursery collection and the nursery safety guide.
Is the wallpaper really made in the USA?
Yes. It is designed in Rhode Island and printed in Pennsylvania.
Can I get a sample before specifying a pattern?
Yes. Samples ship free for every pattern, so you can confirm color, scale, and finish in your own light before you commit.
