How Much Wallpaper Do I Need?

Three measurements. We'll tell you how many rolls to order. No math required.

Run the Numbers

To estimate wallpaper, measure the total width of the walls you are papering and the wall height, then divide by the usable width and length of a roll, allowing extra for the pattern repeat so the design matches seam to seam. Mayflower's calculator below does that math for you: choose your wallpaper type, enter your wall width, wall height, and the pattern repeat listed on the product page, and it returns the number of double rolls to order.

Mayflower rolls are 20.5 or 27 inches wide, or 36 inches for grasscloth, and we always round up so you have enough to match the pattern. The calculator covers our unpasted papers, textured vinyls, peel and stick, and grasscloth. Murals and fabric are sized differently, and a few older patterns fall outside these roll widths. Working around windows, doors, or a sloped ceiling, or not sure of a measurement? Send your dimensions to us and we will size it with you. Order a sample first, with free shipping, to confirm the pattern and color on your own wall before you buy.
