About Mayflower Wallpaper

Jonathan French grew up inside one of Britain's most beloved pattern houses. His mother, Anna French, built a design company whose wallpapers graced homes across Europe and America for decades — before she sold it to Thibaut, where Jonathan spent nearly ten years in the trade, learning how designers work, how projects get built, and what it takes to bring a room to life.

In 2013, he crossed the Atlantic with his three young sons and landed in Rhode Island. The company he started here — named, quietly, for that crossing — draws on everything he grew up with: the Arts and Crafts movement, Victorian damask, Morris-inspired botanical pattern, the English tradition of wallpaper as a serious design decision rather than an afterthought.

Mayflower patterns are designed in Tiverton, Rhode Island and printed at East Coast mills on paper made to last. Every design is available in traditional paste-the-wall and peel-and-stick formats. Jonathan and his wife Stephanie run the studio together — he handles the patterns and the projects, she handles everything else.

If you're restoring a period home, outfitting a boutique hotel, or finishing a space that deserves something considered and permanent, we'd love to hear about it. Jonathan talks to every trade client personally — reach him directly at 401-824-6968.
